FAQ

Frequently asked questions about creating pastes, privacy, passwords, expiry, Google sign-in, and exports.

Do I need an account to create a paste?

No. You can create and share pastes immediately. An optional Google sign-in links pastes to your account so you can access them from any device.

Are my pastes listed in search engines?

Individual paste pages use noindex, so user content is not meant to appear in Google or other search results. Public pages like the home page, Features, and FAQ are indexable.

How does password protection work?

You can set an optional password when creating or editing a paste. Viewers must enter the password once per browser session to unlock the content.

What is burn after reading?

When enabled, the paste is deleted after the first successful view. Treat it like a self-destructing note — the link will not work afterward.

Can I export a paste to PDF or Word?

Yes. Open any paste and use the download menu for plain text, PDF, or Word (.docx). Mermaid diagrams in Markdown are rendered into the exports.

What is the body-only view?

Append /main to a paste URL (for example /abc12345/main) to show only the content — no header, footer, or action buttons. Useful for clean sharing or embedding.

How does My Pastes work without signing in?

Anonymous users get a private owner token stored in the browser. Pastes created in that browser appear under My Pastes. Clearing site data removes access.

Is content end-to-end encrypted?

Content is encrypted at rest in the database, but the server can decrypt it to render exports and admin tools. This is not a zero-knowledge pastebin like PrivateBin.
